Summary
The APPG on Infant Feeding and Inequalities invites views on the provision of infant feeding services for parents, in order to assess the availability and usage of these services and identify which services could be improved in order to improve infant nutrition for all parents in the UK.
Consultation description
The APPG on Infant Feeding and Inequalities is committed to creating a society where all parents are given the best possible opportunities to promote healthy lifestyles for all children. Central to this commitment is the core belief that good infant nutrition helps create the building blocks for good health in later life.
Parents are at the heart of our approach to improving infant nutrition and tackling inequality, and it is vital that parents can access the best available information on the feeding choices available for their children. This call for evidence seeks to examine the current landscape in which infant feeding services operate, which services are most frequently used by parents, and the challenges and opportunities faced by the organisations that deliver these services.
The responses to this document, as well as wider engagement through oral evidence sessions, will help shape a report that we expect to publish in autumn 2017. This plan will set out in detail our recommendations for improving infant feeding services across the UK, as well as identifying and celebrating areas of best practice in service provision for infant feeding.
